From start tot finish, or anywhere in between.

Meerkat Stories, with Marlou Rutten as story developer and Eva Aben as head writer, guides the script development process from start to finish, or steps in to kickstart a project or get it on track.

While unburdening the producer, broadcaster, or streaming service, we provide a creatively safe space where writer(s) have the room to fly within the scope of the assignment. If needed, we also offer support with funding applications and pitches.

Mission

Our ambition is to elevate the content of the development process of Dutch films and series, thereby the final product.

Our approach

After a thorough introduction and sharpening the focus of the project, we make clear agreements on planning, the playing field, and, if needed, bringing in additional writers to strengthen the writing team.

Once the core, vision, and thematic foundation of the project are established, the development work begins. Once the film or series has been beaten out, we move on to the treatment. We place extra focus on the treatment phase, so that the screenwriting phase runs as efficiently as possible. By arrangement, we remain on standby during the shooting period to handle any rewrites if needed.

Welcome to the den!
